What are cookies?
Cookies, also called cookies (in English, cookie means cookie), are small text files (txt.) sent by a web server and saved on the user's side (usually on the hard drive). Cookie parameters allow only the server that created them to read the information contained therein. Cookies are most often used for counters, polls, online stores, websites requiring login, advertisements and to monitor visitor activity.
What functions do cookies fulfill?
Cookies contain various information about the user of a given website and the history of his/her connection with the website. Thanks to them, the owner of the server that sent the cookies can easily learn the user's IP address and, for example, check what pages he or she viewed before entering his or her website. In addition, the server owner can check what browser the user is using and whether there are any errors while displaying the page. It is worth noting, however, that this data is not associated with specific people viewing the website, but only with the computer connected to the Internet on which the cookie was saved (the IP address is used for this purpose).
Jak wykorzystujemy informacje z cookies?
Typically, the data is used to automatically recognize a specific user by the server, which can then generate a page intended for him. This allows, for example, customization of websites and web pages, login support, and some contact forms. The provider uses cookies. It also uses them to create anonymous, aggregated statistics, excluding personal user identification. This helps us understand how users use the website and allows us to improve its structure and content. In addition, the Provider may place or allow a third party to place cookies on the user's device in order to ensure the proper functioning of the website. This helps monitor and check its activities. This entity may include, among others, Google.
However, the user can set his browser in such a way that cookies are not saved on his disk or are automatically deleted within a specified period of time. These settings can therefore be changed in such a way as to block the automatic handling of cookies in the web browser settings or to inform each time they are sent to the user's device. Unfortunately, this may result in problems with displaying some websites and unavailability of some services.
